Zenith 701 Humanitarian Pod

Our drop tests went 100% to plan.  We now start working on how to get our new project to reach the tougher parts of West Africa with the 750 platform (more load, more range!).  Thank you Zenith and Rotax for making it possible!

Zenith STOL CH 701 Air Drops help African communities grow...

Those who know what we do will remember that we are authorised to drop health education materials to rural communities using our specially modified, Rotax 912iS powered, STOL CH 701 aircraft.  As part of this we made the first ever aerial supply drops into the Afram…

Article Reprint: Safety Is No Accident: Zenith’s aircraft are high-utility contenders. So how’s their record?

The following article was published a few years ago in Kitplanes magazine.  While all of us may not agree with all of the author's observations, it's shared here to help Zenith builders, owners and pilots increase their awareness of safety issues in operating their homebuilt kit plane.  We invite you to share your comments below.

Copperstate 2012 - 4 days of flying with friends - 259 pictures - plenty of fun

This year was my 4th trip to Copperstate, the annual fly-in held at the Casa Grande Arizona airport (KCGZ).  The fly-in is fine, but for me the trip is the main event.

The flight this year was a total of 1,926 miles.  We spent two days flying each way.  I say we.  On the trip down I flew my Zodiac, keeping Doug Dugger of …

Building an airfield...

Building Zenith aircraft is a pleasure we all enjoy.  Being a little more than 'naive' my team got to build the aircraft, the hangars and the airfield - as well as work on the regulations and approvals process for Ghana!  Today, we administer the training and assessment, as well as licence issue for the National Licence (LSA equivalent) on behalf of the Authorities.  It has been a long journey, and we have further to go.…

X/C trip to Fayetteville AR

Last week, I took a few days off from work and went on my first X/C trip of any substance in N75ZX. I left Angleton TX on Thursday morning and landed in Corsicana TX to meet up with Ed Poteet, another 750 builder. Ed took me to get a hamburger and we returned to (CRS) in time to take him up around the pattern in my 750. I think he enjoyed it, and he mentioned that's what he needed to get moving on his project again.…

Trip Report #1

I really like reading trip reports, so here is my first trip report of hopefully many more. I have flown many cross country trips before but they were in my Beaver RX550 ultralight. This trip was the first long(ish) flight that we have taken with our CH601XLB. It was almost a year ago that Dave, Glen and myself bought this 601 from Howard Parr. Howard lives in Regina,…

Desert, mountain and river flying trip through California, Nevada, Oregon and Idaho

Les Goldner (701 builder/pilot) and his wife planned a two week flying trip into the Idaho back country.  Les and I belong to both the Petaluma EAA chapter and the Santa Rosa, CA EAA chapter.  We fly together from time to time.

Even though it was "his trip", Les let me plan the route from Santa Rosa, CA to Boise, ID.  I chose a little low-level desert flying in Nevada from Carson City (CXP)…

Travels in the Four Corners Area

I'm not going to make it to Oshkosh this year, but I just finished a phenomenal 6-day trip across the Canyon and Indian country in the Four Corners area (AZ, UT, CO and NM) in my 3.1L Corvair-powered Zodiac 601XLb.

Departing from Falcon Field (FFZ) in Mesa, AZ, the first leg on Sunday, July 1st, was to Cliff Dwellers Lodge (AZ03), one of the very few places you can land within the Grand Canyon Special Flight Rules Area.  Cliff Dwellers Lodge airstrip is actually owned by…
