Interference between Viking Steel Bungee and Viking 130 Motor Mount

I purchased a viking motor and a steel bungee for my 750 Cruzer, but it seems they don't want to play well together. With the motor mount installed it is impossible to use the hardware provided to adjust the spring, or even get access to the hardware. Unless the nut is completely tight, it won't even clear the motor mount.Has anyone seen this and how do you work around it? It is hard to believe that one company sells both and they don't work well together. There must be something I am missing.I…See More

Cost for commercial airplane painting

I am trying to decide if I should paint myself, or pay for a pro do do it. I know that asking how much does painting cost is like asking how much a house costs. But has anyone painted a CH-750 STOL or Cruzer, what can I expect for costs for a basic paint job?Do you want it in pieces when you paint or complete? Do you want to paint before or after engine/instrument panel installation?ThanksJonathanSee More

Purchased the Viking 130

Dale C. was selling his 750 Cruzer project and had a buyer for his airframe, but not the Viking firewall forward and 130 engine. I was not originally going to wait to buy until next fall, but having a willing seller, and a never installed engine at the right price, I took the jump and got it.It arrived today. I still need to actually build the firewall to attach it too, so it will be a few months but I already got a head start and purchased the videos from John at Homebuilt Help.In the…See More

When my family outgrew a Cessna P210, my mission for flying changed. I got plans for an RV-8, but built and observatory instead. I took a number of years off flying full sized airplanes and build a number of scale and aerobatic R/C aircraft, may of my own design. Now that my son is 16 I wanted to finally check off building a airplane from my bucket list.
