Hi David, good to hear from you. I am really glad to hear other guys are putting real airplane engines in these kit planes. I have fown two other 701s both with Rotec 912 engines on them and I didn’t like the engine at all. Then when they pulled the cowling off and I saw all that crap on there, I thought “Why would anyone want to use this engine?” The performance wasn’t any better than mine with the O-200 on it and the last one I flew it’s nose would drop harder than mine when you reduced power. Everyone goes on about how much heavier the O-200 is but, I can’t tell it flying the plane. The difference in weight is only 11 gallons of fuel or the fat around my brother’s belly. Hahha
I have even thought about putting a turbo on my O-200 engine. But that is another story. hahahaha
