John, I just got my 701 flying and I used a 660 Suzuki turbo from a snowmobile and its seem to good great and the cost is a lot less. The motor I have is running 6200 rpm's and makes 108 hp and can be turned up if needed. Cruise is 5500 rpm's at 95…
Hill Climb Coordinator for Arctic Cat Inc.
I work and build snowmobiles in the Race Dept. The main job is building ECU programs for hill climb sled.
The CH701 I built has a 3 cylinder 660 turbo Suzuki engine from a snowmobile. It runs very well.

Hi Al...
Like your choice of engine! I have some questions: In regards to weight of the engine as installed... how heavey? Is this a water cooled setup? Do all Suzuki 660 3 cylinder engines come with a turbo? Is Artic Cat the only snowmobile builder using this engine? Can this engine be bought new from Artic cat?
I have a chance to buy a wrecked 2001 Artic Cat ZR600EFI machind with 3955 miles on it! I'm building a 701 with a few mods... and the engine must be able to handle the 701 of floats!
Do you have any more photos of the setup?
Thanks Ron
Al, Your 701 looks great. How does it fly? I am working on a 750. I am going to put a 0200 continental in it. Hope the weather is getting warmer where you are. St Cloud has had cold as well. Larry
nice job Al
I am working on restoring my 701. I have chosen the yamaha apex attach engine.
I see that you went with a belt drive. how does that work with the high reving Suzuki engine?
Steven
Al,
A very interesting engine installation. I would enjoy hearing the details about the engine and the performance of it. I currently run a Vw powered 701 with a belted redrive that performs really well. I will be away until the 28th and I will check my mail then.
