First Flight: Flying our new CH 650 with UL Power's UL350iS engine

Sweet flyer! Yesterday we finally had the chance to fly our new Zodiac CH650 B kit airplane with the brand new 130-hp ULPower engine. First flight was performed flawlessly by Roger Dubbert.

Very nice! look forward to seeing it at Oshkosh. I have been suffering from builders withdraw the last year or so. This combo would make a nice hanger mate to my 701. both ends of the spectrum!

From the specs on the Website, the engine seems awesome (mechanically simple, lightweight, powerful, modern) ... but quite pricey at $25k.

We plan to share performance numbers as we continue with the flight test program. First impressions are very positive! I'm amazed at the short take off roll of Roger's first flight. The ASI was showing in the 120's but we really have not begun documenting the flight test program yet. Now, we're painting the cowl and adding color to the rest of the airframe.
