601 is in "hospital", Quality Sport Planes in Cloverdale. Tail feathers off for inspection - all good. Replaced about 20 smoking rivets.

Brad,
Smoking rivets were all on the passenger's side. Worst were 4 in a row under flap on lower longeron. Then 4 more further back on longeron; one under each vertical stiffener. Also about 6 on the belly, area between the flaps. Also first vertical row that hold the skin to the firewall. No idea why all on passenger's side. I almost never have a passenger. Did some math. 2,000 hours at 2500 RPM works out to 600 million blades of prop wash.

I just did my inspection as well. Thankfully all my drilled holes were round and no cracks found. I'm curious, which rivets were smoking?, or where were they clustered-stab attach? Fuse?
