Thanks Jon. Please do. I really like the idea of the rear mounted alternator for helping keep the CG aft, simplicity, more symmetrical looking, and possibly more airflow at the inlet.

Yeah, it's been upgraded to 120hp.  The valve cover is one we slapped on there because my filler neck was in the way of the coil on Roy's dyno.  I then proceeded to leave my cover sitting on the work bench and head for home...  i'll swap them back when it comes in the mail.  The alternator's charge is negligable at idle.  I glanced at it once or twice during the run, but couldn't say for sure exactly at what RPM it begins to put out power just that it did put out a solid 14 volts at speed.  I'm putting the cowl on this week and will run it again to check temps then try to give you a little more detail on it.

Did you upgrade later to the 120HP, I see the 100HP labeled valve covers here, and your video recently states 120HP. Just curious. Also... does the alternator create enough power at idle to charge the battery/support the ignition/run radios etc, or better yet is it discharging at idle? What RPM does it "come alive?"  Thanks.

The alternator is a Yanmar Dynamo unit only mounted on the rear with a bracket made by Dan Weseman. You can read all about it on the SPA Panther website.

Ok, looks great. Curious about the alternator, can you tell me about your setup?
