Hi Timothy,  Yep I bought those.  I was very sure I'd eat up the cost of the factory parts in making "test pieces".  Also, I've found it difficult to make my brake perform well on anything thicker than .040".  If you still have access to Jesse's brake you should be in good shape to make the bends. A few narrow practice pieces to get your setbacks setup for that brake and you should be good to go.  Good luck!

I didn't notice the photo with 75F3 -6, -7, and -9 installed.  Did you make these parts or buy them?  This top channel trio seems complicated. Or do-overs are expensive since they are all made of 0.063.  -7 seems to be the hardest part to make of the three.

Hi Michael, I posted some brake photos and a short explanation of what I did. .040" seems to be about the limit for the L angle brake to achieve acceptable results: http://www.zenith.aero/photo/20150103-130904
My first attempt at the stab spar had a pretty bad bow in it, I think the brake allowed the center material to slip out slightly while bending forming a nice looking but unwanted curved spar...... I placed a clamp every 6" and applied duct tape to the gripping surfaces of the brake in an attempt to improve grip. Seemed to work for me, but I'm glad most of the plane is made of thinner material. Good luck and let me know if you need additional info or pictures.

Hi Clint, my project not progressing as fast as i would like, i am having problems folding the spars for the elevator and horizontal stabiliser to a standard i am happy with.
So i am experimenting with a brake to do to this task. I have angle iron and the piano hinge bender however the deflection is not enough to bend to the required angles. How did you overcome this?
Today i cut out my spars for the wings, to keep things moving along. I enjoy the process but have many years ahead also.

All the best Mike

Thanks Michael,  I have a long way to go with this build.  Will be getting into some expensive parts soon, panel and engine.... I'm a few years away from affording an engine.  Good news is I should be able to sit in it and make airplane noises this year!!  Next project might be a scratch built ch640, need a bigger workshop first :)  Hope your project is going well!!

nice work Clint, looking forward to seeing the finished aircraft. Do you think you will build another?
