Does the seat just rest on the rivet heads that hold the seat pan to the underlying rib ?  Has anyone gone to the trouble of countersinking the rivets or adding cork or rubber spacers?  Thanks

On a 750, the seat rests directly - no spacers. I really don't think spacers are necessary or would accomplish anything. There's enough "give" in the seat pan that the screws will tighten up fine and not leave a gap between the pan and support. My seats seem very secure!

John;  Thanks for the response.   My concern was that it looks like the seat will be putting all of its (and my) weight on the rivet heads that hold the seat base to the underlying rib, rather than spreading the force to the whole seat base.  If I were to dimple the rivet holes, then the seat pan would fully rest on the seat base.   Am I (once again) being too anal ?

Believe me, the seat mounting is not a problem!!! I don't think that seat base is so rigid that it rests solely on the rivet heads - looks to me it must certainly "give" just a bit and press metal-to-metal over large areas.

Fahgeddaboutit!!!! LOL!
