got my renewal on my policy, went up over $100 to $950
So I figured let me try someone else just to compare, even though I’ve been using the same broker for 30 years.
i have over 1,000 hours, 350 in my 601XLB hangared.
avemco quoted me over $3000!
i forgot to ask if they gave me my AOPA discount!
Guess I’m sticking with my broker.
Full hull coverage, or liability only? If full hull, I’d say you have a super good deal.
40 k valuation
I was told by my insurer that there are less companies in the market so less competition leads to price increases...for everyone.
A friend just sent me an interesting discussion the other day. It is from an insurance trade publication and discusses why the aviation insurance market is ticking up a bit in cost after almost a decade of staying flat or even decreasing slightly. We have enjoyed a nice run of low cost insurance but that run might be coming to an end. I will attempt to attach the PDF of the discussion.
Thanks for the info
Interesting article. Thanks for sharing
Avemco was who I used as a renter, but when I finished my 701 and contacted them, they wanted $4000 a year for full coverage! (40k evaluation as well, but I am a much lower time pilot)
I want to talk to your broker!
I use Falcon Aircraft Insurance. They are the broker recommended by the EAA and have done very well by me. I currently have multiple planes insured through them and they seem to find the best companies for me consistently. Most years we stick with the same carriers but now and then they recommend a new carrier because the one we've been with has gotten out of line. And they shop based on the plane, sometimes they find a better deal with one carrier for one plane and another for the other plane. They clearly work for their business.
