Why is there never a Canada all Zenair Fly-in?. Is the support lost in Canada?. Is this not the country where the Zenairs started?

The 4th annual Zenith Zip Fly-in will be held on Sept 3-4-5 th at Brampton Airport. This event will have demonstrations in building /owning and flying your Zenith Aircraft. We are making arrangements for Aircraft Spruce, Rotax / Jabiru and UL engines to be present.

I will also be having a Lunch BBQ on the Saturday of the May long weekend at the Can-Zac Hanger at Kitchener Airport.

Perfect.

I have it circled on my calender. Maybe you can let others know in HORIZONS in COPA and RAA
A few months back I emailed both Mark at Can-zac and Matheau at Zenair about organizing a event here out west but never heard back from either one of them. I have talked to a few Zenith owners that I have met and all showed interest in such a event. So I too am interested in the answears to your questions.

I love your idea, Just imagine in Midland where everything started, Hear that mark. I can only hope the boys in New Mexico hear this too.
Opps I meant Mexico Missouri (Air in the Head)
Perhaps Zenair in Midland, Ontario would be an ideal location to host this event? No tower or control zone / radar transponder issues to deal with. Most Zenair owners are flying local grass roots types.
It may not draw as large a "walk-in-crowd" as an event located in the GTA. A neat idea but weather and the vast distances, and rugged terrain of Canada will affect aircraft numbers. "Going far - go by car. Time to spare - go by air"
For the past 10 years I have been part of the Challenger flyers group, and the winter fly-in at Montebello draws 200+ Challenger fans and 15 - 35 flying Challengers. Some of these Challengers fly 1200+ miles to attend.
How intrepid are the Zenair flyers?

Bob:

I could not agree with you more. I too am not fond of Canada traffic control either especially Oshawa, they can be very nasty unlike US where they are actually helpful. It would be nice in midland But I believe it is up to mark Townsend (the Zenith rep) he is Having a fly in at Brampton on Sept 3, 4,5 according to this forum. brampton is Uncontrolled no tower. You just have to fly under the Radar to stay out of pearson Airspace.. What ever it is I hope there will be some kind of advertising because everyone that I know that has a Zenith never heard of this fly-in.
I am planning on attending Mark Townsends Brampton event....what to bring??? My CH750 or CH601HD?
Maybe my partner Ray Nash will fly the CH601HD down while I fly the CH750.
Bob

Good to see you will make it. it would be nice to see both Aircraft. I personally would like to see your 601

Take care
