I am also thinking about going without slats when on floats. Seems like a good way to offset the float drag, as long as the flying characteristics remain good, which Inunderstand is the case at least not the standard gear. Not sure that will do much for oil temp though. I’ve got some higher oil temps than I like - going to try to solve that before I put the floats on.

Dan, normal operating range for oil temp is 175-212, with max of 248. I will certainly be keeping an eye on any increasing trend during normal opns. Also thinking I might get a bit more performance with gear retracted and eventually maybe pulling off the slats?

Glad to see that your performance looked a little better the second time around. I’m not sure what the parameters are for the UL350is, but those oil temps might give me a little heartburn.
