Yes, definitely engine problem. I was following the trip and noticed that he stayed too many days at the last airport and mentioned weather but also waiting for engine part form florida. That was a clue that some sort of problem was brewing with the engine. And then I saw the flight progress abruptly stopped. I am glad they are ok. The big tires allowed for a nice landing on rugged terrain, I hope!.

I asked the same question to Viking. They said that they had identified some issues with the engine and are returning to Florida tomorrow so they can work out the kinks before Oshkosh.
They did not explain the Garmin data in their response.
