Flying the Zodiac in Guadeloupe

Following are a few more great video clips flying in Guadeloupe.  This time, the videos are from a Zodiac CH 601, landing at the unique island airports.  The first one is landing the CH601 on the Terre-de-Haut Island, which is the largest island that makes up the "Les Saintes" group of tiny islands located about 10 miles southwest of Guadeloupe.  This is a unique airport with an 1,800-ft runway but with access from just one direction (09) and requires a special "endorsement" from an instructor:

The second video clip is landing at La Desirade, another small island located 5 miles east of the main island of Guadeloupe.  This runway is a little bit easier with approaches from either end, with a 1,900 foot runway.  With the big bubble canopy, the CH 601 is great plane for site seeing, and is perfectly at home flying in and out of these short runways.

Though these two airports are considered "restricted use" they are quite open to visitors, and not far at all from the main island of Guadeloupe.

Our last clip is at St. Francois airport, which is located on the east tip of Guadeloupe.  This is a public use airport with a 1,900-foot paved runway.
