Last month, Roger, my brother Mat and I visited Buzzy Devoll of Buzzair Flight Academy located Carson City, Navada.  Buzzy and his wife, Aumie, operate the full-service flight school with a nice new Zodiac CH 601 XL-B S-LSA trainer which is available for flight training, check-rides, and aircraft rental for flying in the scenic area around Lake Tahoe.

We decided to go flying up to Lake Tahoe for a photo shoot with the three S-LSA aircraft.  The Carson City airport (KCXP, elev. 4,700-ft MSL) is located west of Lake Tahoe which is a large deep lake in the Sierra Nevada mountains.  The lake's elevation is 6,225 feet.

We took this opportunity to take some video with our new ContourHD camera, which is a compact HD video camera. This is Roger with the ContourHD camera mounted to his headset...

Here's the video clip of us flying up to Lake Tahoe for the photo shoot.

(The audio feed for the ContourHD camera was not working properly - there was a high pitch buzz that I muted out...

It's even prettier when everything is green.

Why does Roger look like a Vulcan in those sunglasses?

Becky: Yes, I would highly recommend that all builders / owners spend some time with Buzzy to get checked out in the aircraft before their test flight (and it's a beautiful area for scenic mountain flying).

Beautiful pictures.  Maybe this would be a very pleasant way to get a few hours in before I do the test pilot gig when my plane is finished.  Also - 601 XL-B must work well in the mountains if they use it for teaching at high altitudes - and I hope to do some mountain flying in Western US.
