601HD Rudder Rib Question

I have a 601HD tail kit and hope to finish the rudder up this weekend.  Everything is clear except the installation of rib 4 at the top of the rudder. The 601HD spar does not have pre-drilled holes in the spar for rib 4 although the instructions say they are there.  By the way the instructions that came with the HD kit are 601XL instructions for some reason. Also the drawings do not have the length up the spar for positioning the tab that holds the fourth  rib. I have seen a video that  shows…See More

I was hoping to dive in sooner, but reality dove in instead and the realization that paying off a relatively high interest rate loan should come first.... Life...

I cant wait though and in the meantime I'm watching metal workshop vids as well as gathering the tips and tricks people have posted here.

I believe I'll be going with a Jabiru, but still cant rule out the Viking 130. The viking is awfully heavy though. I just don't like the rotax, from what I've been hearing it is very complex and requires a lot of maintenance.

If so I would love to get in touch with you. I'm strongly considering building a 601 HD myself.

Always liked the "honesty" of the HD -- although I'd probably build as light as possible; have to finish my current project first, but will be looking for your updates -- Good Luck !!
