Brady, Thank you for the " head's up " on the use of stainless for the tanks. My intention was to weld in some baffles that would join the top and bottom togerther, there-by all but eliminating any oil canning, and by the same token, substancially…

Hi Brady,
Yes I was at the meeting at your shop with William Wynne. Thanks for having it. I found it really interesting and I'm amazed at the things you are doing to help with the Corvair engine development. I'll probably want one of your 3.125" stroke cranks eventually. I'm collecting Corvair parts at the present. I want to try the 140 heads on an approx 3L engine so I'm on a search for some decent rebuildable heads.

You asked about me posting photos. Being new to the Zenith group and the Zenair web site, I'm not sure where to post photos. There seems to be a jillion different places. I don't really have much of interest yet to show. Wings and center spar torn apart doing the upgrade mod is about all.

Hello Brady

I am interested in building a corvair. I do not know much about it yet, a gentlemen that lives close to me has some corvair parts for sale, he was going to build a 3100 but now is going to buy an engine. Here is what he has for sale, what do you think is a fair price for:

New intake and exhaust valves
New valve guides
New roller rockers
6 VW cylinders
6 VW pistons
New OT-10 cam
Standard crank
New lifters
6 New spark plugs
2 good heads
Case machined for larger cylinders
New exhaust donuts

I already have a nice stock corvair that I could rebuild. I heard that the 3100 can produce 125 h is that correct. Next is it worth going to all the extra trouble to build a 3100. Sorry last question, if I purchase that stuff how much more is needed to complete the 3100, do you know of link that out lines what all needs to be done? Again sorry for all the questions.

I have just started my 650 today, I should be done the tail this week. I will try to post some pics of my engine and the tail.

I work for USF Reddawy in Kent WA as a line driver. I have been there for 5yrs. It is a good union job with good beneifts!, but they are slow just like most of the other trucking firms in this industry. Heck even UPS and FedEx are down by 18-20% given the current economic conditions. In other words, I was not surprised to be laid off...there is a lot of that going on..

Hi Brady,
Yes making some good progress of late on my 701 since i got laid off from my job about a week ago. Just finishing up on the forward section of the fuselage and it should be ready to join to the rear section in a couple of days. I will post some new pictures then...
Let me know when you run your new engine and how it dyno's out and the numbers...
later,

Hi Brad
The floats are puddlejumper floats, 15 ft fiberglass amphibians..Bought from
Montreal canada..I have not used them much as I did not get them before
late last year and it was too cold to use them..They handle well on the 701
Cuts down the airspeed about 5 mph..I use a 100 hp 912uls engine..

Hi Brady, Congrats on your engine mounted and fired. I had a picture of the first 701 that I ever saw as my picture, i think plane was from around your area. Anyway decide to change photo as plane was not mine so after viewing your picture with your dog, decided to change so I posted photo of LuLu, just a pup my old fellow passed on after 15+ years.

Yes I have photos I will try and post here shortly, bought plane not finished and minus instruments and power plant. I have instruments and purchase rebuilt 912. Hoping to be flying this spring. Just mounted the 912.
