...is on the left. My 701SP came with big baloon tires. My older 701 had the thinner tire in the middle, the nose wheel being replaced by a smaller wheel to reduce drag and weight

I have a cracked up bubble windshield that the previous owner wanted to part with. There are two cracks with stop drill holes on both ends, plus a more serious crack that take a big piece, about1 1/2" X 6"on the lower edge of the pilot side, off the…

I am Chumphol Sirinavin, and I'd prefer to be called a Champ (, and not a Chump). After 34 years of getting paid for flying with full welfare benefit, it's time to pay for my own flight.

The beauty of simplicity in design and construction is attractive enough for me to have two 701's. I had been flying the first for a while, and now re-building to fix fuel leak in both wing tanks, among other things. I have not flown the second yet, waiting for some more work (and re-work?) on minor things, although the engine and mount and firewall are ready. May be, I just want to keep my hands messed up with airplane building.
I have the Zenith wing-fold kit retrofitted to one of my 701, and built a small trailer for it to park in my car port.

I welcome any question on installing wing-fold kit.

Nice to meet y'all.

Happy Landings

Thanks Khun Champ.

I spent about 8 hours in the garage over last weekend. Was working on installing the rear channels. Took a while because I had to make a new template....and again I had to adjust the dimensions of the template by trial and error because if I had used the measurements as laid out in the plans.....the template would have been too far back by about 3 mm.....its strange.

I think I am an expert at making these templates because I have made about 8 altogether!

btw, am heading up to Thailand again at the end of the month.

Happy building!

I am glad to hear that someone else is trying that (the longerons) , last year I posted about that and nobody was interested , I want to eliminate the extra material at the splice and the need for bigger rivets and use solids in every place that is possible , you know , little by little weight is taken off the frame. Did you cut the material oversize? how much?.

thanks
Pedro

hello
answer to your question ,i think i will make the nose ribs as per plans because i really cant find any data on the effect that including the slat into the wing will have ,and there is all kinds of data on just removing them and adding vgs . the thought had crossed my mind, maybe you can pass on any info on why you chose to do it this way .I quess the chord would stay the same .im not sure if the leading edge should take the shape of the wing or the slat ?? .
thanks and keep in touch
