Made two wingstands in preparation to hanging my wings. Harbor Freight had these folding, adjustable rollers on sale for $16. Bought 17' of 1" aluminum square tube and now have two adjustable wingstands! Just need some foam pipe insulation to cover the crossbar.

Wing stand followup...  These worked very well for the purpose of rigging the wings.  Easy to do very precise positioning of the wings as necessary.  However...I absolutely needed to extend the bottom tubes (used conduit which slipped into the bottom tubes) and I used weights on top of the bottom tube (rim mounted snow tires either side of the center pole).  At that point the wing stands were rock solid yet easily adjustable either direction and in the vertical via the clamp.  In my case, these were quick to fab, easy to store, and are functional for either wing stands or adjustable rollers.

Damon,

That is a potential issue, plus the pivot to spread the legs is not that great without over tightening.  If stability it is an issue, my first thoughts are to simply use a piece of scrap plywood - about 3' x 3' and use pipe clamps to secure the legs to the plywood base.  Your idea of running tubing thru the bottom tubes would be easier, so I'm going to poke around in the garage and see what I got or need to get to have on hand.  Thanks!

Is that going to be stable enough? Perhaps you can run tubing through the bottom tubes to make sure you do not have a tip over with the wing on it.
