Hi Landon,

Great looking airplane. I sent you a friend request, I live in Sylvan Lake, AB and am building a 701, currently fly a Piper Tri-Pacer, would like to ask you some questions.

Thanks,

Engine is a Rotax 670 from a snowmobile..........makes about 100 hp and weighs the same as a 582......empty weight is 500 lbs.........engine and prop combo make about 400 lbs of thrust at 2500ft elevation............the tires are the same size/type you would find on an old Honda trike atv.........the rims are light weight racing rims that I narroed by 3 inches to make a very tall and slender tire.......the brakes and spindles are from a Polaris predator quad, the brakes are amazing......you can slam on the brakes and skid the tires at 30 mph............ the suspension is hand made and functions similar to a motocross bike with gas shocks and coil springs..........you can stall the plane 10 feet above the runway and it lands soft and does not bounce........great for severe short landings on gravel bars in the middle of the river!

I will post the exact tire sizes and parts list asap........all bought from an atv parts store........

Hey Landon, cool set-up! What engine are you running in your 701?

Please tell more about the tires.  What size? What brand? Where bought? Type of tread? What air pressure? What type of wheels ( aluminum or steel)?  Thanks, Dave

Sounds like a motocross engine!!

Rugged tires...no doubt. It's so cool to see what people do with their airplanes.
