This CH750 is registered Advanced Ultra light Aircraft (AULA) in Canada or LSA in USA. No "float plane rating is required" ... type training is recommended. I have 118 hrs amphib float time, and spent 6 hrs one summer afternoon getting type trained by an instructor. Float flying is actually easier than wheels...longer runways, no trees, always into the wind for landing or take-offs (normally). I will post some pictures of my local area... Northern Ontario. Its actually safer to be on floats or skis than wheels. The reason I got a drivers licence was so my Dad did not have to drive me an hour away to take flying lessons :>)
