Legendary because he has received awards from FAA for 50 years of safe flying. Even though when was an airplane delivery pilot during WW 2 and had 18 engine-outs he never crashed any. He was test pilot for Notre Dame in developing the powered parachute. He started the Young Eagles program for the EAA. He had a one man gyrocoptor show, similar to Ken Brock. He helped the military during Vietnam war with the 1st. Unmanned Aerial drones equipped with search lights to Illuminate the enemy at night for the fighters to then strafe. The wildest ride he told me He ever had, was being strapped to a rocket chair attached to a parachut.
