I think that is a fairly common phenomenon due to the fact that there was no body weight ahead of the center of balance and the majority of the accumulated snow is aft of the center of balance. It probably sat on it's tail with a gentle motion because the snow did not all land on it at once. You would be more likely to have damage if two people stepped on the entry steps simultaneously.
