Hi Patrick.  I'm wanting to incorporate a secondary latching system to my canopy also.  Could you tell me how this works or have other pictures to share like this one?  Where did you purchase the latch from and how's it set up?  Anything you can provide, will be greatly appreciated!  Thanks, Larry Hursh
