A couple more questions.
I think the RV dude used some orings on the strut. I think it may have been to hold it in place. Did you need to do this?
Also, do you have the link to the rv post? I can't seem to find out now.

That is where I got the idea from the RV web-site. The PVC tube ID must be over 5/8 inch so it can slip over the air cylinder. It hasn't been tested at high wind.

Is this 1/2" pvc with a slot cut out - or no slot and you unhooked the strut and slid it over? I saw a similar set up on the RV site but in that case there was no slot for removal. I didn't think the canopy would close with the 601/650 if it had to remain in place. So which did you do?
