Online Community of Zenith Builders and Flyers
I added an anti-tracking software to my computer (Avast) and everytime I log into our Zenith.aero website (i.e. this very forum), I get a warning that I'm being tracked. The following are the messages that Avast blocks from this website:
I know very little about computers. Is this something our site administrator needs to know about?
The message you show is use of Java script library called JQuery.
Java is on most computers... I think...so how do you know if its trusted...I'm w Allan on this , know just enough to be dangerous and not much more!!
Ok, thanks. I wasn't sure if there was/is a problem with the website.
I’m more concerned about the fact that this website is not secure.
If, by secure, you mean that this site does not use the https protocall, your are correct, it should, but I really don't think there is much of a risk on this website, since the information is public anyway. What would it matter if someone intercepted the data and read it? True, your password could be compromised, but simply using a unique password for this site will protect you in the event of that unlikely possibility.
My major concerns are:
1) I fully expect that one day the plug will be pulled and this great resource will vanish.
2) in the meantime, the search function works so poorly it is difficult to impossible to do proper research on a subject.
Unfortunately, I haven't seen any evidence that the owners of this website have any interest in making any improvements, and it would be almost impossible to get Zenith builders en masse to start using a new forum (Just ask Mark).
