Zenith Hands-On Kit Aircraft Building Workshop Experience

Here's a recap of the March 2024 Zenith Aircraft workshop class held at the Zenith kit airplane factory in Mexico, Missouri, where thirteen rudder assemblies were built by participants. In addition to gaining kit building experience (by building their own rudder tail section), participants also tour the factory and go up for a demo flight!
Zenith Aircraft Company's factory workshops are popular with sport aviation enthusiasts, giving them the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in building their own Zenith Aircraft kit plane. Participants get to actually start assembling kit parts under the direction and guidance of factory professionals, and "graduate" from the workshop upon completing construction of their own aircraft rudder tail section for one of Zenith Aircraft Company's popular kit aircraft designs, including the high-wing Zenith CH 750 series or the sleek low-wing Zenith CH 650 cruiser.
The factory workshop make an excellent getaway for you and your spouse or a friend! Spend a couple of days at the Zenith Aircraft factory and meet with fellow aviation enthusiasts - all while gaining valuable hands-on building skills.
And don't forget: A demo flight is part of the factory workshop experience in a Zenith factory demo airplane!

Zenith Aircraft's Sebastien Heintz takes us on a walking tour of the Zenith kit aircraft factory expansion at Mexico Memorial Airport (KMYJ) in Mexico, Missouri. As previously announced, Zenith is expanding its kit aircraft production facilities in response to strong demand for its popular aircraft designs, and to consolidate kit aircraft parts manufacturing at its single manufacturing plant in central Missouri.

Thank you to everyone who visited, participated and helped out at the annual Zenith Aircraft Homecoming (on September 15 & 16, 2023). Once again we had a fantastic event with two full days of educational and fun activities at the Zenith kit factory in Mexico, Missouri.
Highlights included hands-on workshops, seminars, and panel discussions where experts, as well as Zenith builders and flyers, shared their experiences. The Zenith Homecoming celebrates Zenith builders and flyers, and they came out in force once again, flying in to the event from around the country in their beautifully finished Zenith kit aircraft.

Join Zenith Aircraft's Sebastien Heintz and Roger Dubbert as they go flying in the low-wing Zenith CH 650 over Mexico, Missouri, and discuss the upcoming Zenith Homecoming activities at the kit aircraft factory.
Kit aircraft manufacturer Zenith Aircraft Company will be hosting its 32nd annual Homecoming / Open Hangar Days & Fly-In at its factory at Mexico Memorial Airport (KMYJ) in Mexico, Missouri next week. The annual fly-in event is a homecoming for many Zenith Aircraft customers from across the Midwest (and the entire U.S.) with many Zenith customers flying in to Mexico, Missouri, with their completed Zenith kit aircraft (whose parts were made at the Zenith Aircraft factory). The Open Hangar Day & Fly-In events include two full days of activities, including educational aviation seminars and workshops, an aircraft show, contests, social activities, as well as a Zenith BBQ banquet dinner on Friday evening, and fried chicken dinner with awards presentations on Saturday, and also factory tours, aircraft building and flying demonstrations, and activities for all visitors.

On the first day (Friday, September 15th) educational seminars will begin in the morning and take place throughout the day featuring various airframe (the aircraft fuselage, wings and tail), engine and avionics seminars. There will be additional seminars on flight safety (transition training and pre-flight preparedness) and representatives from the light aircraft industry. Friday’s activities conclude with the popular Zenith Aircraft banquet, help outdoors in front of the Zenith Aircraft factory with the planes.
Saturday's schedule is packed full of activities including:
• Tours of the modern Zenith Aircraft kit production facilities,
• Zenith aircraft show, judged by the public with many categories and prizes,
• Seminars on Zenith aircraft kit construction and maintenance,
• STOL and other flying demonstrations at the airport
• Fried chicken dinner and awards ceremony starting at 4:00 pm
Saturday's activities are aimed more for the general public, with fewer seminars and more flying demonstrations! View photos from last year's event.
Saturday afternoon's STOL (short take-off and landing) flying demonstrations are just some of the popular events planned.
Visitors are invited to tour the modern Zenith Aircraft kit production facilities to see and to learn how the all-metal kit parts are fabricated, while Zenith Aircraft staff and volunteers will demonstrate the ease of the kit assembly with modern final hole size match-drilled parts. The strong Zenith community of builders and owners continue to make Zenith the number one brand of light sport aircraft in the United States (based on actual FAA registrations). Visitors are invited to take part in the many educational seminars and workshops in the factory.
