Landing on Missouri River sandbar - two airplanes - off airport

With the Missouri River level low again we decided to fly out and land on a river island sandbar, just east of Hermann, Missouri. Roger and I flew the Jabiru-powered STOL CH 750 while Dennis flew ahead of us in his Rotax-powered STOL CH 701.
What a beautiful afternoon!

Great fun guys.

I haven't landed on a sandbar yet although a pasture, a few service roads, etc.  On another note flying at very low altitude is a real blast too.

It would be neat if there was a "post" there for carving tail numbers for those who have landed.

WOW, Looks like it would be fun, I haven't seen and sand bars in any rivers here in Ontario that you could land on? I enjoy your videos, can't wait to learn how to post them now that I got a camera.
