I had him remove them for me before I bought it last October because I like grass strip fields. I have not installed them yet for myself , so I cannot answer your question. AS to the heavy left wing. You need to check the rigging first. Level the airplane. Measure all the flying surfaces to determine anything out of rig. There is old article on the EAA website on how to measure and fix these problems. I wouldn't even attempt to modify the airplane until after doing both of these.
I just cut out a hole I liked and made some smoked Lexan to fit and riveted in, sealing it with silicone. I made a plywood form to the curvature of the turtleneck where the windows fit and glued some aluminum foil over it. Set the plastic on top of it and put it in the oven at 250°. Sat there and watched it carefully until it took the shape. Pulled it out and let it cool. Both sides came out perfect the first time but I've done some similar windows and lens before and I was prepared to do it over until they did. Here's the pictures I have:
Yes I am building the 750. At first I wanted to put a bushing for the cable to run over, but then I discarded that idea. I just want the cable to go directly without any friction on the cable. So when I extended the hole to do that the cable contacted the stabilizer front spar 75T-4. But now I need to put some doublers in and see what I can do about this cable. Do you happen to have the part number for the fairing doubler? Dave
