Robert - My Chapter (EAA 513) is having its annual flyin on October 17 at the Houma airbase (KHUM). I'll have my 701 there if you're interested. - Chris

Thanks for the information. I will store it and when I complete my 40 hours I'll be looking for places to go. Especially to see other builders' projects.

I know what you mean about the heat. My plane is flying great. Putting in the required 40 hours is a lengthy process. Where is Purvis located in relation to a MS city I would recognize?

Robert you are right about Gordo, nobody knows where it is. I just saw your post, we are in Panama City Beach for a couple weeks of fishing. I went to the military base too check emails. I don"t know youre uncle but my building partner probably does.

Robert - The way to BBQ. Interstate 10 west out of New Orleans toward Baton Rouge; just outside of NO take a right on 310 to Destrahan/Luling bridge. Go to HWY 90/Interstate 49 to Houma/Raceland/ Thibodaux. Your going west (I know odd numbers run N/S) on 49 take a right on LA 1 (about 40 minutes from 310) toward Thibodaux. You'll be about 20 minutes from the BBQ. Coming from Baton Rouge I 10 to New Orleans about 40 minutes out of Baton Rouge take a right at the Sorrento exit. Go about 1/4 mile take left on LA 70 and cross Sunshine bridge. After the bridge go about 1mile and watch for left exit (easy to miss) that is spur 70 to Thibodaux/ Napoleonville. Stay until you see another left turn across medium to go to Napoleonville/Thibodaux. When you get to Stop sign cross the bayou to get to LA 1 and take a left. Your now headed South a good 45 minutes from BBQ. The strip is off LA 1. Call my cell. Let me know via email by Friday morning if you are coming.
