Joe, I am not trying to talk you out of buying my engine, but If you just need top end work on your engine you may be better off buying cylinders for your engine. If you have bottom end troubles you will probably come out better buying a good serviceable engine. If you bought mine you could use it as is and use the extra parts to overhaul your engine. Then you would have a spare, or you could sell one of them and recoup some cost. Let me know. Mike H.
Are you guys fabricating the cages or are you buying them from Zenith? Did you have any issues with mating the cage to the built up frame? There is a plans builder in the forum section that had trouble getting everything lined up with the cage.
Hey Joe
How goes the battle we've finished the wings 6 and tail feathers for all three planes... One aft fuselage is done and were going to stay with this one to completion. I hope your group is makeing progress

Hi Joe. thx for the friend request. sure, that's good.
the 701 is an interesting little plane...it's ripe for experimenting on improvements. and no matter it's faults, there's nothing else out there that i'm aware of that will get in and out like it will
Yes the header tank with the warning light is a good idea. When that light goes off you know exactly how much fuel is left. FYI a friend who has built two RVs says they have the same setup ... one fuel pickup at the rear. Ken
I have heard that the inspector in this area likes to see all surfaces primed so I think that is the path I am going to take.. Should'nt add too much weight.
Just wondering if when you are priming, are you priming just the mating surfaces or all of the internal componants covered by the skin. A friend of mine who is building a 701 sais that the mdra inspection requires it..Do you know or have you heard that this is true.
Hi Joe, you said that you've had problems with the horz stab nose ribs, I have all the parts done for the stab but the spars. If all of you had the same prob, I guess I will too when I assemble the stab. Thanks for the heads up.
