ATTENTION BUILDERS ! I now have a new 701 kit, and will start the build in the fall, I ordered my new plane with the "old style" 5.5 gallon tanks to use as auxillaries, Zenith as always accommodated and remade the tanks. It would be to any builders advantage ,to do this . It gives you almost 2.5 hrs. of added fuel , and by design [ ie. against and parallel to the strut] almost on the CG. ,so no weight shift, the aux. tanks can feed the mains and therefore do not need fuel gages, sure beats gas cans for the long occasional flight ..BOB

Hello Bob,

Thank you for your prompt response. :o)

I have already purchased the VG's for the elevator, and I am very impressed with your water take off's not to mention the flight attitude of your 701 in the recent video on skies.

I also agree with your comment about the fences looking really cool, and was wondering if you happen to have any close up's of the fences, and the method you used to install the horizontal stabilizers on the tail. If you do, would you please send them to me off forum at the following address

robert.pelland@cgocable.ca

Thank you for the time you will take to address my concerns.

You have my very best regards
Bob

Two things I would like to pass on to other builders, 1. put the key switch in the center of the dash , so you can operate it with your arm resting in the -y- stick. this helps with restart in flight , taxi on floats ,and ski's as nose can be held up with hand also on key to shut off when coming to the pier or shore ,while holding throttle with left hand. 2. DONT use a plastic fuel filter under the cowl, and wrap insulation adound the metal filter for fire protection , and vapor lock prevention ..VERY important...

Bob,

Would you care to comment, or elaborate on the three protrusions that are seen on the top of each wing in your " Extreme water take off demo ". They look to me as being some type of fences ( for lack of a better word ) that are often seen on certified STOL retro, kits that are sold by compagnies like " Robertson STOL "

Are these " home made modifications " to your 701, or something that can be found elsewhere, and how effective have you found them to be. ?

regards

Robert
