Hard to say what the next cross country will be for me.
I want to explore eastern Oregon and Washington.
In about two months when the weather gets predictably good I will head out with a bunch of "fast" ultra-lights from this area. It will be a big circle route: Lodi CA, Salt Lake UT, Moab UT, Down Colorado River to Page AZ, then back home via Southern CA. These guys fly slowly – 70-75 MPH. I have been practicing flights at those speeds – not too bad in a 601 – a 701 would be better.
Also have loose plans to fly to Alaska this summer with a 701 that is being built at QSP and will be based in Alaska.
Sebastian, 6-ZU-3-6. Instead of replacing the the L's on side access cutout, place the new L angle back to back with the existing L. It would save a step by not having to replace the nutplate.
Just a note to let you know the latest. I finished the forty hours today and I'm looking forward to fly-ins, airshows, and pancake breakfasts around the state. I also hope to visit some builders who are in neighboring states within reach. Rest assured, vigilance and continued tweaking are still on the agenda. Thanks for a great kit and equally great support.
Hi Sebastien, I met you this spring when I was down for a Demo Flight. I Fell in love with the 750. Ordered one and will be at the factory on Oct 15 for the rudder workshop. Taking my kit home the 16th cant wait. Look forward to seeing you then. Larry
I unpacked the crate one piece at a time. A neighbor had a fork lift and got the crate off the truck. The crate is now in the center of the garage, ready to serve as my work bench once inventory is done. Thank you for your help in getting it secured. The straps held great!
After reading about the upcoming “STOL Flying Techniques Forum” at Air Venture I was very disappointed that I will not be able to attend. California is a long way off and it’s a nice thought but not happening this year. Soooo how about you and your Zenith team take some videos and post them on the web site. I have a few hours in a 701 now but not enough to consider my self and expert, and even the experts can learn from a good discussion on this subject about the many techniques of landing and taking off the 701.
Happy summer Zenith, I plan to fly to the Hot Party Saturday. I'm havin a grand time with the 750. the engine is mounted, the radiator connected. The wings are ready to attach.
So much time, so little to do... a.a.a, did I say that wrong?
Hey Sebastian,
my dad and i wre shooting the S___T last night and were wondering about the the 620. if two people were interested enough, could they conceivably buy plans to modify a 601 to a 620 with twin 2200s. We my be thinking of it as a fun project.
Hi Sebastien, Ask your website manager if he can flip comments on each item to read most recent comment on top/first? I would like to read the most recent response top down. Thanks, Mark
Much appreciated. These things tend to take on a life of their own. as an aside, I am just getting ready to paint all components and assemble. I have enjoyed this build thouroughly and hope to build again in the future. Tom
Sebastian , perhaps you could comment on the ongoing debate on good/bad fuel requirements for the Rotax engines. I know that Roger has said he burns 100LL in the 701, and Phil Lockwood has said " no problem" as long as a couple of issues are followed ( more frequent oil changes and a higher grade motorcycle oil). I know you might be hesitant but it sure could be helpful to your devoted followers) thanks, Tom
Hi Sebastien at last a nice community for all Zenair enthusiasts.I will recommend George Alevizos and Alex Takis.George is flying SXUAL the yellow CH701 and I helped Alex (my best man) to get his hands on A CH801 in Texas last November.
Are the wing kits for the new CH650 using match-hole construction between the ribs and skins like the CH750 wing kits are?
I enjoyed talking with you at Sebring.
It was an story with a happy ending. Your govern paid to the hospital because I was a victim of crime and now the bandits are on jail. The man who punched and kicked me will be 5 years on jail.
That's what the advocate told me.
At least now I am alive and now I can build an STOL of your father design.
