Chris - I used the exterior grade 3M tape ... I've had good luck with this on other projects - doubtful it will ever come loose! I did take particular care to round, smooth, and polish the ends of the tubing - I'm watching it for chafing, but have not detected any in 90 hrs so far. I thought about putting a little heat shrink on the brake line where it enters and exits the metal tubing to add an extra layer of protection, but at that point I had everything hooked up and bled, so I didn't…

But, so far, doesn't look like it's necessary.
IF the 3M tape does not hold-…tag:zenith.aero,2012-12-20:2606393:Comment:2549232012-12-20T13:57:35.194ZChris Aysenhttps://zenith.aero/profile/ChrisAysen

IF the 3M tape does not hold-up. A couple of small drilled and tapped holes in the gear where the clips are wouldn't hurt the integrity of the gear. Say, #8-32 or a #10-32 tapped hole so some machine screws can hold the clips. But nonetheless a good clean look; nice design John....... Need to make sure the ends of the 6061 tube are well rounded and deburred.

Piece of 6061 T6 tubing secured by .025 brackets secured to the spring gear with 3M exterior mounting tape. The tape allows a little "give". I tested this and the bracket will be destroyed before the tape comes loose!
I'm getting ready to do this…tag:zenith.aero,2012-12-15:2606393:Comment:2543572012-12-15T16:19:48.771ZDan Dempseyhttps://zenith.aero/profile/DanDempsey
