In spite of every thing I could do to screw up this engine, it is still running like a top.
I found some kind of goo that had gotten into the tanks and was plugging up the fuel supply just enough to let it run, but not let fuel flow free enough for full throttle operations.
Pulled all the lines and filters and replaced/cleaned them all.
All seems well now. The coolant temps are now down to 200 210 deg. With that cowl you gave me.
The wiring block made all the rough running leave the engine. It purrs like a kitten now.
I think that now we can start to enjoy the plane. Just in time for the second half of summer

I was REALLY interested in this engine (still am) until I found an O-235 with too good a price to pass up!  Glad to hear it's holding up so well and I may still get one a few years from now.

The liquid cooling is one of the features that I like, in fact a guy here was doing circuits in 35C weather a few days ago when his engine started running rough...turned out he blew two jugs on his engine! :(   Not a common occurrence but still happens...and expensive to boot!
