Today is Wed and as such I have an open hanger morning for the local RAA chapter which entails that I host the morning coffee and doughnuts. With word getting out that I have a new kit in the shop, I have more visitors then usual. SO I do not get to work until noon again today. As you will notice, the table has gone bye bye, I use a table when I am working on flat stock but as soon as assembly starts I use two saw horses adn two 12 ft 2X2metal peices with several 4ft metal peices. This works alot better and allows me to clamp easier and be able to get under the plane if I need to do work through the baggage floor. I will use the table again to assemble the forward fuselage and for de-burring.

AS you can see it is first fitting of one side of the rear fuselage to the bottom.

Now, that went well lets get the other side on. Remember I am alone in the hanger, wife has stayed at home and I prefer not to work when I have customers or others around that wish to chat. I have found that I work better and make very few mistakes when I am alone, i don't prefer to be alone but when I concentrate better on just one thing at a time, that can be building and not talking or talking and making mistakes while building. Guess I am the type that doesn,t chew gum and walk well. I listen to a talk radion station during the day so I don't feel alone, I always have someone talking to me and I can ignore them without feeling bad.

Ok this is the end of Day 3, I am just dumbstruck on the progress of this fuselage, Remember I have no assembly instructions and it is going together flawlessly, everything just falls into place, with all the pre-drilling I have not had to worry about alignment and to this point I have not yet pulled out a tape measure! I will try to keep this up to date, but there may be gaps in the time line as this kit is going so well I really enjoy working on it. I have never progressed through a kit as fast as this. Plus with the great progress you just want to keep going. However, I think I am getting low on cleco's and may have to do some de-burring, Zinc Chromate and riveting.

HI Admin, I have a Brand new Rotax 912ULS sitting on the floor in the hanger and have ordered the FWF kit for the 650. I should with a bit of an adjustment be able to mount this configuration quite quickly. I have also ordered an inflight adjustable prop for this plane. I am hoping with the light weight and adjustable prop to have quite a performer.

Mark - thanks for the update! We look forward to following your progress.
What engine / avionics are you planning to use?

Mark, thank's for the great photos. As for you doing much better work when you are alone, I know exactly what you mean.
