Rotec TBI-34 followup from Rotec after request for pricing and more info!

"The Rotec TBI-34  is the best fuel injection system for your VW 2056cc with redrive on the market
today, its also very reasonably priced, and our support and back up is
    outstanding.

The price......USD $976.00 includes FedEx shipping to your door.
     Regards, Paul Chernikeeff."

There you have it... they also included emails from some od their customers informing them of some of their ideas making the installation on their specific engines even better!   The TBI-34 is about the same size as the dis-continued Ellison EF-2.  It should be noted the the Rotec TBI is an offshoot of the Ellison which costs twice as much!

Here is some of the most recent info available on the Rotec TBI-40 Mechanical Fuel Injection.   The report provides some insight into the design and how it has since evolved.  They do make a smaller unit - TBI-34 for smaller engines... waiting for more info and pricing!

Also read the FAQ on the Rotex site at...
http:// www.rotecradialengines.com/TBI/TBI.htm#FAQ
That should answer any concerns os questions when it comes to comparing carbs... this is Mechanical Fuel Injection with its own regulator... not a carb!

Lynn Matteson on the Kitfox list has installed one on his 2200 Jaburu and is testing it out with some very good results...

Check out the following links to the Kitfox list and draw your own conclusions:

Yes neat TBI-40... I have one installed in a Subaru EA 81 engine. I tried several draft carbs. I was not satistfied with the results... Also tried other throttle bodies....varies problems. Make sure you follow directions on placement of fuel regulator....I added a remote by bass on the regulator. It is fantastic for the first start in the mornings. I keep the mixture control at max for taxing, take offs and landings.
No dripping of fuel after shut down..Especially when you forget to shut off over head fuel tanks!!!

I like it so much, I did not do the final touch ups on the remote. If anybody needs photo's, I will be taking digital pictures to send to Paul in Aus land. Sended emails 9:30 pm and had answers back with in an hour!!! Good luck Tony in De
Make sure you can do the idler mixture control as soon as possible.
