It is pretty certain that we will be coming to Oshkosh...

Oshkosh is a long way from home... a long long way from home...

it is a shame that there are not a few places to top up the tanks on the way over...

or some calm waters to put down a float plane...

and since we will be three, we will need to take a bigger plane to get there... and since our 801 is not ready, we will have to use a flying Pringles tube... or a 777 or something like that...

Patricia Mawuli and Lydia will be accompanying me on this trip - for both of them their first time in America - and subject to the usual visa challenges... but we are coming.

We hope to be able to meet up with those of you interested in talking about building and flying Zenith aircraft in West Africa, Rotax aircraft engines in a developing nation, fuel challenges, servicing challenges in remote locations and, of course, our humanitarian aviation logistics operations... Patricia is a great engineer, pilot and assistant flying instructor - and is always ready to share in a fresh and enthralling manner her aviation experiences - which, for a young lady who used to run and hide in trees when she saw a plane just 4 years ago is quite an achievement...

Lydia, who is probably the first disabled person to be given the chance to learn to fly and build aircraft in Ghana, is a breath of fresh air - her smile is contagious and her straight forward answers to question will knock you backwards!

My role is to facilitate their experience... we will be at the show all week, Patricia will be a part of the international day on the Thursday... other than that, we are going to be around - soaking in the Oshkosh fever and looking to see our friends that we miss, and to meet those who we have only communicated by e-mail and forums with... and of course to make new friends and contacts that can help to boost the activities of Medicine on the Move and WAASPS in West Africa...

For those on the Zentih forum interested in what we do and how we do it, please, make a note below of your day at Oshkosh, and we can start to make a schedule to meet up with you, to learn about your plane, and share about our tropical flying adventures and challenges that change lives, one flight at a time...

If Pat and I are there (still an open question for this year) it will be in our 1947 Stinson 108-2. The 601XL is nowhere near ready to fly.

If we do attend, we will make a point of looking for you and your young ladies. Enjoy the trip and enjoy the OSH experience!
