I recall seeing an excellent web page about making a landing light lens using an oven. Could someone post a link to that page or similar. I've lost the bookmark.

One of the websites I saw quoted 250 and 350 in the same artical. (I think the 350 might have been a typo) When I made mine I started low, then gradually opened the damper on the stove. I was able to see the plastic through a crack with a flashlight, so I was able to sneak up on it.

A friend of mine wanted to make one, his buddy told him the oven had to be at 350 degrees! (later found out it was a prank)
He used his home oven, draped the plastic over a mold. Made an awful mess and stank up the whole house!

Incredibly similar to what I did (but I used the regular kitchen oven).

I found a couple of hits on Google:

I made mine by heating the plexi glass with a heat gun and holding it to the wing. Worked great.

Nice job Dan.

I made a form like that but didn't have the heat so I found a place down the street with an oven and had them form the plastic. They made two drapes and both of them came out good.

I got lucky and the first try the landing light came out really good. Here's how I did it.
