Made my first assisted free-fall jump today

Jumped out of an perfectly good airplane today. Ironically, as we climbed to altitude I became gradually less nervous. When it finally came time to jump I was OK. My instructor said I did very well. I went through all my maneuvers in time to pull the cord right at 5500'. It was actually a lot of fun.

I recall my one and only jump from my college days... Making myself jump out of a (perfectly good) airplane was one of the most difficult decisions I've ever had to force myself to make (this was before tandem jumps were popular). It was fun and exhilarating, but I've never had the desire to jump again...

Thanks Dave! Oh, I'll be back. It can't stay windy forever. All you folks do a great job there at NorCal (shameless plug).

Congrats Russ,
A lot of my friends can't wait to jump from my 801 when I'm finished. By the way, I've been telling everyone there is no such thing as a "perfectly good airplane". That's why it's always good to know how to jump out of them as well as fly them.

You might be able to do free fall jump from your CH 750, flown with door(s) open, preferably by another pilot..
I made my first free fall in 71. Scary. I did not have much control except for not getting my pants wet!!! The fun started some jumps later.

Some guys have all the fun. Building two airplanes and jumping out of them too. I have got to try that!
