I moved my 601XLB to the airport a couple of months ago for final assembly. A week or so ago, I took my grandson along while I did some measurements for the seat cushions. He wanted to sit in the cockpit, which was fine by me. When I turned around, I found him making very careful, but of course meaningless measurements, along the top of the pilot side.

I don't think he really understands what we're doing, but I figure the early exposure to airplanes can't hurt anything.

Just spent last night out in the hangar with my son working on the plane.  I think spending time with grandpa in the hangar may be something he remembers fondly throughout life.  Good on you!

If I had a camera in my hand at the right time I could have taken this same picture of my grandson.  Thanks for posting.

"Yup ! " he is checking your rivet pitch. Smart kid :>) He has already figured out he has to use the metric side of the tape measure.

Trying to see how big a teddy bear can fit in the cockpit?

I think he's inspecting your rivet pitch.
