EAA president Rod Hightower in Mexico, MO

The Experimental Aircraft Association's (EAA) new president, Rod Hightower, was in Mexico, Missouri, this past weekend for the "Mexico AirFest Salute to Veterans Air Show." Rod flew in for the weekend (with his daughter Hillary) in his Stearman, pictured below.

We enjoyed meeting Rod and having him in town for the weekend... his love of recreational aviation is contagious. His leadership at EAA is a going to be a great asset to the organization, and we look forward to working with him in the future (and to future visits).

The "Mexico AirFest Salute to Veterans Air Show" held on Saturday was a great grass roots event to honor retiring US senator Kit Bond (whose home town is Mexico) by recognizing and saluting our veterans. Performers included the amazing A-10 Warthogs and a flyover by the B2 bomber.
