Paint Scheme

Everyone has been a great help in helping me decide on the best power plant and have given me good input on the different types of aluminum. I have a couple more questions I want to bring to the group.

1. Anyone have any good ideas on a homemade bending brake you could send me? I have checked with local shops and they do not have the 1/8 bending radius set up on their machines. Most have told me unless I am going to have them bend a large amount of aluminum, it isn't work their time to… Continue

2024-T3 alcad aluminum vs 6061-T6

The plans show an optional material that can be used is the 2024-T3. Has anyone used this in place of the 6061? What are the benefits of it?

CH750 / CH701 Gas Caps

I have gas caps that leak when I go flying. This is evident by the fuel streaks down the top of wings from the filler necks after I land. I suspect this is from the position of the filler neck & fuel caps is steep turns. High wing tank leaks in a turn. I also noticed that the right fuel tank level was always higher than the left after going flying.

The tanks would start out level if left in the hangar over night. I went to dip the tanks after flying and heard a "whoosh" upon…

New Builder

Ok, I just purchased the plans and I am debating on building from component kits or scratch building and buying the more complex parts. Any recommendations???? Also, what do you all think of the 1.3 Raven for a power plant?

A little Angel with a Crumpled Wing...

I have often been asked what is so special about flying in West Africa and, 'If I could have a cent for every time I was asked that I would be a millionaire'.
