Hello Rich
The 601 b mod I did on the 601 made the airplane the exactly way the Coe. In the the quick build form from Zenith now , I'm not sure what the date was on that particular kit , but you will have no problems meeting the 51 % rule as for pedals you can swag the rudder cables with the pedals angled back toward you for a better fit the only in you might have to do is lengthen the rods that go to the noes gear. It is possible to drill new holes and move the entire pedal assemble back farther also

Hey Rich ... congrats on the jump into airplane buidling ...I hope you have has much fun as I did during the build process.

My plane is a 650B so my answer may not apply to a 601 but from what I see on mine moving the rudder pedals aft is not easily done using supplied parts. I think you'd have to fabricate new pedals which would also effect the way they attach to the brakes.

The pedals are not very far fwd. You are welcome to come and sit in mine to see if they will work for you. Just call me at 919-757-8599 to arrange a time.
