I'm using the pulled rivets. Zenith construction uses a concave machined rivet puller nose piece which pulls a flush rivet into a dome shape. It makes for a really tight fit against the aluminum part. With your RV building experience, driven rivets might be a better option for you. There are no "option" drawings for the 701.

Are you going to do pull rivets? I was thinking of flush solids, but wanted to study the plans first. I might just buy the welded parts as I dont have a welder yet. Will see when the time comes. Did you get the options plans as well?

I plan to do pretty much everything scratch built. The cool thing about Zenith is you can order any individual part if you feel it is too difficult to fabricate yourself. I found a great source for rivets. http://www.rivetstop.com/

They sell the needed rivets for about 60% less than Aircraft Spruce plus free shipping. You have to buy in lots of 1000.

Yeah I decided to go with the 750 because of being able to (and proven) to use an O-200. It is so much simpler than the Bearhawk so I decided to put it on hold for a few years until 750 is done. Are you going to do all your own welding?

Hey JJ. Surprised to find you here. I guess Derek told you I'm building a 701 from plans. Its great to be building again. I've already made most of the parts for the vertical stab. Flew the Sonex this afternoon.
