First flite after modification

N408WL flew today 04/30/2010 first flight after modification very windy day 90 degree crosswind aircraft flew very well only change was the ailerons seemed heavier than before. Made the best landings I have done. extra 30 lbs helped the cg. flew 1.5 hours 3.5 of phase one to go. Emptey weight 790 lbs with jabiru 3300, icom 200, Dynon 180, airspeed indicator, Garmin transponder, air gizmo and 196 GPS, flite com intercom, exp bus and compass 406elt. Modification added 30lbs.

N408WL built by Harry P. Land Jr. and Leland K. Wolfe was awarded its Airworthiness certificate on May 30, 2009 at 12 ;30 p. m. with no deffects.

Congrats on getting your FAA blessing.

I'm retired AF too, just retired in '05 out of Maxwell. I was pro super for AF1 at Andrews during the second Clinton administration, finished up as faculty at SNCOA. Long-time aircraft maintainer before that (NDI guy). Now I'm teaching HS English here in Shelby County, Alabama, working on that second retirement.

Winston's not all that far from me here in Birmingham, maybe I could come have a look at your plane sometime? Or if you're in the mood for a XC, come on out to KEET, our house is just down the street.
