Pulsar NSP Breaker size

I recently added AeroLED Pulsar NSP wingtip lights.  These have the Nav / Strobe / and Postion lights all in 1.My strobes work great, but the NAV lights pop the breaker in several minuites of use.  I can imediatly reset the braker and get several more minutes of use before it pops again. The directions say to budget 5 Amps per strobe and .5 amps per NAV.  Since I have 2 wingtip lights, I read that as 10 Amps for Strobe and 1 Amp for NAV.I installed the lights with 18ga Wire (Calls for 20-22 but…See More

What can you do with GRT Sport EX Analog Inputs?

Ive been contiplating upgrading my panel to a GRT Sport EX but am curious about the option for 4 additional Analog inputs. Can I use these to replace my Fuel Gauges?  Can I use them for analog fuel pressure senders?  How do you choose what Gauge/Alert/scale goes with the input?  With a resistor in line, Can I use them as an Open Closed indicator/warning?Can I use a fuel flow sensor with the analog inputs?Trying to decide if it's worth the extra $400 for that and the audio alert output. Thanks!See More

Viking 90 Cowl Installed

These pics are from last week's Cowl install process.  It didnt have much extra material, but it fits!I found that I had to push the cowl as far forward as possible for the circumference of the back to be sufficient.  I put the spinner inside the front "Ring" and worked from there.  I also had to trim the metal at the bottom of the fuselage all the way up to the dzus plates.…See More

Viking 90 Coolant hose connection

Im having a tough time fitting the coolant hose to the top mounting point on the engine behind the gearbox. (see image attached)  I'm told it will fit, however the tube has a sidewall of .205" and the clearance between the pipe and the back of the gearbox is .158"  as best I can measure. That's .047" SMALLER then the clearance needed BEFORE the thickness of the clamp is added.Despite this, I have managed to soap up the pipe with dish soap and get it most of the way on, but there is no room for…See More

How are you monitoring your Viking?

I just purchased a Viking 90 and will be updating my panel at the same time as the engine installation. What EMS you use or how do you monitor your Viking?  Does the ECU interface with the CANBUS on any of the EMS Systems?  Looking at either the Viking EMS (But then how do I setup HOBBS meter?) or a MGL Xtreme EMS with either connection to Viking CANBUS if possible or a RDAC XF.Any information on how you have setup your EMS is appreciated.  Thanks!BradSee More

Brad,

Let the games begin!  I picked up my 701 complete kit in Mexico on 19 Jan.  and have been working on it at a rather decent clip.  I built my rudder back in Oct. at a Zenith Workshop and made my order the same day.  I've just completed the horiz. stabilizer and elevator assembly (with electric trim) so the tail-feathers are essentially complete.  I'm currently finishing up the slats for the port wing, but the Weather Gods have finally caught up with me and I'm reduced to doing way-out work on small pieces in my home office.

I've ordered a Viking 110, but there are a few 701's with VW conversions out there.

Drop a line if I can be of any assistance.
