Hi Bob, the landing gear in these aircraft is very strong. I am making some guards to go on tires to keep the mud off the wings. I shall post some more photos of beach landings and more paddock landings. Yes these aircraft are like Range Rovers except they don't break down on a trip.

Awsome Shafid!  Please keep me/us informed about this,  I am VERY interested in backcountry flying and was wondering if the landing gear could handle the bumps.  I'll just have to watch out for bushes.  "601XLB" The airplane for EVERY ocassion!  You can go fishing in the morning and fly you special lady to a fancy dinner in the evening.  Kind of like a Range Rover!

Hi Bob, so far I have already been to most of the places I have taken my CH701. It does nearly land as short as 701. The only problem is the high bushes could damage the wings. I am going to put big tires on my CH601 so I can pop down to the river beds. The CH701 has better visibility when landing.

Hi, I'm finishing up my wings and will be ready for a powerplant soon on my 601XL(B).  I will use an 0-235L2C engine.  I really love the idea of "backcountry" flying and landing in the wild!  Do you think the 601XLB will take the "offroad landings" well?

Thanks,

Bob Piazza
