Eugene, I ran a 1/8" thick piece of extruded aluminum angle across the width of the rear of the baggage area, and mounted the hardware to that.  It's visible in the photo's, you can zoom in to see more detail.  Access to the nuts was through the belly hatch.

I plan to install Crow harnesses in my CH601XL. I was wondering where and how you installed the mounting hardware in the baggage area. Please let me know. Thanks!

Just wanted to say that I drilled out that 016 "sling" and moved it down as low as it goes, then riveted it back in (with a L angle from the upgrade kit being used behind the pre-existing row of rivets from the old location).

Head room is better. I have about an extra 3/4" of knee room now, too. A nice "win".

Patrick, Thanks for the info you have shared with me these lasr few days. I am in discussion with Todd of Todds canopies trying to figure out where my problem is with canopy not fitting rollover hoop. I am at home from work with blown cervical disc waiting for him to return call. Hope he can help me,with canopy that is, Jerry

I didn't like the "one shoulder" style that came with the kit. On XL's that I flew, it kept sliding off my shoulder and it bugged me.

I haven't installed the lap belts yet, and I'm thinking about deleting that .016 "sling" under the pilot's seat, so I don't know for sure yet how this will fit after I do that.

Patrick, I am also building 650. We are close to same point in build, you being slightly ahead. I want to use double shoulder straps as you have. ACS catalog had add on set that slips over lap belts from ZAC, but yours have buckle of more complexity. Did you find these in a catalog some place and where? Do you think ACS set which just has a loop to fit over belt left and right of buckle would be less stability or safety? Thanks for your thoughts. Jerry

Thanks Dave. I made my seats out of 1/4" plywood, fiberglass, and comfor foam, then had them professionally upholstered.

When it was all said and done, I didn't save any money over what I would have spent if I'd have bought from Flightcrafters. My main consideration is head room, so my seats are thin.

For most guys, the Flightcrafters seats are probably the best way to go, unless you want to make your own seats.

Hi Patrick, nice looking seats and harnesses. I'm looking for some seats at this point. Did you buy the Flightcrafters seats or did you sew these? Thanks //Dave
