This is my RANS S-6 completed in 2011. It caught on fire on the way home from Oshkosh in 2012!

Fire was right at engine start. Long story but I think the positive terminal on the starter touched the (negative) muffler as the engine torqued during start. Those two basically instantly welded together and caught the battery cable on fire.

What caused the fire... electrical? These are great aircraft kits to build & fly.
